Since we've started reading George Orwell's Animal Farm, let's think creatively and try to imagine the worst. What if you were learning nothing in English class and beginning to feel as if you were being robbed of your right to a free, public education? So ... imagine how it would be if the students staged a rebellion and took over the classroom?! What kinds of rules would you make for a new, "Students teaching Students" class? And even scarier to consider, whom would you elect as your leader? What things would be great about this arrangement? What problems do you think would encounter under your new and improved system? Oh, the possibilities! :)
"I see knowledge increasing and human power increasing. I see ever-increasing possibilities before life, And I see no limits set to it at all, Existence impresses me as a perpetual dawn. Our lives, as I apprehend, are great in expectations." - H. G. Wells

Alright. First of all if we aren't learning anything in school and we stage a rebellion and win, I don't think that putting anyone in our class in charge would acomplish anything haha. Just my opinion. However, new rules written by the students for the students wouldn't be bad. That way the students writing them would understand the perspective of the students who are following them. One rule might be that wecan have our phones out whenever we want. Im not sure who I would vote for class leader... someone who can have fun but is serious at the same time. Some acomplishments might be that we would have more fun at school and less homework however some problems would be we still not be learning anything.
ReplyDeleteIf my class took over the classroom i would have any rules. There would not be any homework and you could do anything that you wanted. We would go on field trips everyday. That would be the best class EVER.!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf the students took over the classroom it would be crazy. and i would want a smart and creative leader and one that knew how to make good decisions. Some new rules that i think should be in place are no homework and the students don't have to do anything stressful. Some things that would be great about this arrangement are that the kids would have a lot more freedoms and less work. Some problems would be the kids would get into arguments and have no good way to solve it.
ReplyDeleteIf the students staged a rebellion and took over the classroom I would first off pick a responsible, yet divertissement. I also think that we should have activities that concludes partners, that way you can learn more when you have someone looking over you.
ReplyDeleteIf the students took over the classroom, I think they'd rebel to the "not learning" side of things. That's what kids hate most about school, while they favor the "social" side of school. So if they did rebel, they wouldnt put anyone in charge or even bother with classes. They pretty much wouldn't learn (which has up and down sides).
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, it might be a good thing if the students were to make up their own rules, because then we could learn the way we wanted. On the other hand, Im pretty sure that we wouldnt accomplish very much. Some rules that I would have are like being able to have phones out, no homework, and being able to talk and sit by whoever you want.
ReplyDeleteIf we were to take over a classroom i would choose the smartest and strongest person to be a leader. The rules would be nobody act like a teacher. NO HOME WORK EVER! Problems would be people couldn't decide on what to do or what to agree on
ReplyDeleteI think it would be good if the students staged a rebellion and took over the classroom because then we could do what we want. Some rules that I would make that we never have any homework and we never have to learn. Also we can't fight. If the students took over the classroom I wouldn't choose a leader because if we can't fight, we don't need a leader.
ReplyDeletewell i think if students took over the classroom a lot of thing s would change. Some of the new rules would probably be like know learning and pretty much everything that has to do with not learning.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it doesn't sound like a revolution would improve learning much! LOL Guess we'll just keep the status quo then! :)
ReplyDeleteI think if a student took over the class it would be a very good change unless if they were taking over your spot mrs snow then it would suck, because you are the most amazing teacher in the world. We love you so much mrs snow and it would be the worst thing in the world if a student took over the class.
ReplyDeleteI think if the students were to take over the classroom it would be nothing but chaos. The people in our class are crazy enough with the rules we have, and if we didn't have any. It would be a whole lot worse. I don't know who I would elect as our leader, because I wouldn't want one student to be superior to everyone else. I don't think having a student as a leader would be a good idea at all.
ReplyDeleteif my classes got over run by the students then most likley we would all have A's and there would never be any work. we would just wach movies and sleep everyday. even though thats how i think it should be, i would not like learning nothing every day
ReplyDeleteI think we wouldn't accomolish anything by putting anyone in charge. However,We all have different oppinions and would probably argue just about any subject if we didn't put someone in charge. The rules? hmm all are equal. but as we all know that rule would probably not be followed.
