"Variety's the very spice of life, That gives it all its flavor.” ~William Cowper As you all have been studying the different gods and immortal figures of Greek Mythology, I have been thinking about all the different realms, personalities, and characteristics they each represent. The great variety exemplied in those beings reminded me of the fact that we also have a great variety of interests and talents within this very class. For example, I LOVE Greek Mythology. I have always studied it in my free time because I find it fascinating. Of course, I love to read about anything--it's one of my favorite things about being an English teacher; I get paid to read and discuss Literature--how awesome is that?! What about you? What is your favorite area of interest? Is it reading too? Or is it science? Or math? Art? Music? Engineering? Juggling? Athletics? And then consider this, the above picture represents multiple intelligences. So, study it for a minute and then tell me: How do you learn best? Visually? Through activities? Projects? Reading? Lectures? What do you think? I know, so much thinking and TWO things to respond to!! Don't worry, I know you're up to it! ;)
i learn best when im either drawing, listining to music or up doing something physical. i cant learn by sitting down and listining i have to b doing something i love. if i need to study for something or memorize something i play guitar, draw or throw around a football. my favorite areas of intrest is music, art, science, and athletics. i love these because i can ex press myself and have hands on learning instead of listning
ReplyDeleteI am good at giving people advice:D I concider it one of my special gifts:D
ReplyDeleteI think that i learn best by doing things hands on.:D
Wow!! A couple of hands-on learners, right off the bat!! Good to know! :D I've never tried to memorize things by throwing a football! If I need to memorize something, I write it down and then I try to picture what I've written. Sounds weird, but it works for me! ;)
ReplyDeleteI learn the best by hands on. I like learning by seeing or doing somthing rather than hearing it.I learn this way easily.I can help other people by showing them how to do somthing rather than telling them how.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite area of interest is athletics. I don't like to sit in class in a desk and read and take notes. I would rather be up and doing somthing. I think I am a viual learner so that is why I don't like to sit and take notes I am better when there are pictures.
ReplyDeleteIf i could have any superpower i would be able to fly because you could go anywhere and not have to worry about traffic or anything. FLYING WOULD BE AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteMy intrest is just hanging out with friends probally I dont know. I learn better when its step by step in activities. I am also somewhat of a visual learner. I am not really a learner through lectures casue I lose interest.
ReplyDeletei learn best with hands on. i like being able to do it physical. sometimes i can learn just from listening. but if u want me to really LEARN it than make me physicaly do while im concious. thats the best way.
ReplyDeletei lern best from hands on expierence and by visual. my best school area is math because u dont have to know facts just no formulas and u solve theres a yes or no answere no ifs or maybes.
ReplyDeleteMy interests lay in music. I've been around music for my entire life, so naturally, I learn best while listening to music or doing some sort of visual presentation. As a musician of multiple instruments, I'm always keeping some sort of rhythm or pitch in my head. To be accepted as one of the best high school musicians in the district is proof of my musicality. Hopefully i can make it as far as one of the best high school musicians in the state. As a freshman, that'd be incredible.
ReplyDeleteI also believe that the hands on technique really works for me I don't mind lectures but they have to be on a topic that keeps me interested. I've always loved athletics but I take my grades and school work more seriously in other words Im more focused on collage than I am on the next basketball game. My favorite subject would probably have to be American history or government. Unlike most people my age im very concerned about politics.
ReplyDeleteWow! Drawing, athletics, music, math, politics!! What a diverse and talented group you all are!! And it sure sounds like we need to be doing more hands-on activities!! Speaking of hands-on learning, I'm so proud of the presentations you all have given this week (and the ones still to come!) They have been OUTSTANDING!! Great Job, Everyone!! :)
ReplyDeleteI learned best through hands on things but like on test when I know the answer it is because I can picture in my mind like I picture when I wrote it or saw it. My intrests are definently not reading at all . Im more interested in sports and like outdoors.
ReplyDeleteI learn best while doing projects and hand on things.Art has always been an interest to me and I love listening to music while I study.
ReplyDeletei learn the best when i am by myself and listing to music and using bright colored pens or drawing. but im not a very good drawer. but that is how i learn best!
ReplyDeleteI love to write and discover new ways to write. I would best learn by logic; like a lecture or by hands on. When i can do something and know I created it and put work in to helps me understand it more :)
ReplyDeleteI learn things when it's quiet and peaceful. I have to get away from it all just to know what's on my mind. Like reading a book on top of a hill underneath an apple tree. I usually learn new things when Im observant and curious, when I discover a new word that sounds fascinating I run straight to the dictionary. It's engaging that there's millions of adjectives/words out there in life to discover.
ReplyDeleteI am a visual learner, charts, graphs, pictures, anything you have tk look at I can remember. I love art, buildings, paintings, and drawings. Looking at them or actually doing the art myself.
ReplyDeletei learn better by hands on like seeing and actually doing what its about. For example if we were learning about ancient greeks i would want to do plays and act it out rather than do it all from the book.
ReplyDeleteI would consider myself to be both a hands on and visual learner. I dont mind taking notes and stuff like that, but Id rather be interracting with something. I really like drawing, coloring and music. Those things would definetly help me to learn better too. (:
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to do it Athletics ,because ive always been good at doing diffrent athletic things. I learn best through project usaly it seems to work the best for me because it is on my own time and i have none else to rely on.
ReplyDeleteI learn the best by eating junkfood and drinking soda while listening to rap music. " I dont actually get much done" ?
ReplyDeletemy favorite thing to study is sports. i love to keep up with nebraska sports and try to watch all the games.next i am a person who learns through doing stuff.if i can put my hands on things i would cause thats how i learn.
ReplyDeleteIlove greek mythology too. :) It's sad that we have to move onto other subjects though. :( I always liked to study greek mythology in my free time as well! :D, I found new stories and different characters, it's pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love to draw and paint in my spare time. I coulod do it all day. I learn best by lectures.
